How the governors work

In common with all governing bodies we have three primary responsibilities:

  • To provide strategic direction for the school to ensure high standards and welfare, while ensuring the school meets statutory requirements.

  • To support and challenge the school and particularly the leadership team in their achievement of the strategic direction.

  • To hold the school accountable on behalf of the school community and to be accountable to the school community.

In addition, we have an overriding duty to ensure that the religious character of the school is maintained in keeping with the school’s trust deed from the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

Feedback to governors

If you have any concerns about your child or their teaching and learning, your first contact should be with the class teacher and then with a member of the school’s leadership team including the head teacher if required.

We already gather parents’ feedback through regular questionnaires. We would also welcome comments at other times. If you have any comments on the school or suggestions about how it might be improved, then please email us on:

or leave a message via the school office.
